We are pleased to announce we have a new CEO at Hillcrest South, Mr. Bennett Geister. Bennett was born and raised in Oklahoma City and is excited to be in the Tulsa area. We sat down with Bennett to learn more about his background and discuss what motivates him personally and professionally.  

National Mammography Day is observed annually on the third Friday in October as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We spoke with Dr. White, M.D., Lead Breast Imaging Physician at Diagnostic Imaging Associates and Hillcrest South, to learn more about the importance of mammograms.

World Food Day is October 16 and David Loganbill, Hillcrest South’s Director of Food and Nutrition Services, says it is an opportunity to bring attention to sustainability and food waste.

“Six of my eight family members got cancer when I was in my early twenties,” critical care nurse, Stephanie Wrightsman, RN, wrote as her answer to a question posed to new employees at Hillcrest South: what is your why? “Three lived, three died. The nurses that cared for my loved ones had a huge impact on my bereavement and the well‐being of my family. I wanted to give back and return the good they did for us, so I went back to school in my thirties and got a second degree in nursing.”

Living a nutritious lifestyle is something we can all strive to do on a regular basis. Even with this in mind, planning your meals ahead of time can become an overwhelming task when busy schedules and daily obligations come into play. However, it doesn’t have to be with all of the resources now available. Allotting a specific time each week to prepare your meals for the week ahead is a great way to stay on track with a healthy diet and to cut down on time spent cooking throughout the week.

For many, fall is a favorite time of year due to its seasonal perks. Whether it's college football, pumpkin spice lattes or gathering with family for the holidays, the list goes on and on. We all can attest to a reason to be excited about fall.
