Dr. Zeeshaan Khan performs a variety of spine surgeries. He provides a comprehensive approach to spine care through the use of non-surgical and surgical approaches. While surgery is not always the best treatment plan for a patient, assisting with direction of further care can have a large impact. Using advanced technology intraoperatively to provide computer guided instrumentation has allowed for improved patient outcomes.
“Spine is one of the most difficult specialties, I feel, because the diagnosis can be quite challenging. The issues are often multi-factorial,” said Dr. Khan. “Our treatment plan has to look at all different factors, and you have to address all those factors to get a good outcome.”
Dr. Khan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas (UT) at Arlington and went to Texas Tech in Lubbock for medical school. When he finished there, he did his residency at Louisiana State University Shreveport, and then a combined neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery fellowship at UT Houston. He moved to Oklahoma to take an assistant professor position at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center for five years and joined the Hillcrest family in 2017.
He enjoys his work at Hillcrest South, where there is a team-based approach among all areas of care, from the clinic to the operating room to the hospital.
“I’ve never met an administration that works hand-in-hand with us, helping us take care of our patients,” said Dr. Khan. “They’re very proactive. So far, it’s the best experience I’ve had.”
In his spare time, Dr. Khan enjoys mountain biking, hiking, working out and spending time with his wife and three children. He loves the work-life balance that Hillcrest South provides.
